–
A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch from the Art Deco period, circa 1930. This watch has a high precision hand wound mechanical movement with lever escapement. The silvered dial features stylised Art Deco Arabic numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, an outer minute track with red 24 hour markers, blued steel Breguet style hands, and is signed with a central M and Chronometre. The back of the 18 carat gold case is decorated with a geometric Art Deco design and engine turned triangular patterns. The inner gold cuvette is signed Chronometre V M, numbered, and bears a Bulletin de Marche from the manufacturer’s laboratory, emphasising its precision and interchangeabilité parfaite. The French origin is confirmed by the eagle’s head hallmark on the case.
