A very fine Swiss, minute repeating, 18K gold hunting cased keyless watch, circa 1883. Made for George H. Ford, New Haven, Connecticut. A polished, hinged and sprung front cover with engraved monogram. Hinged gold cuvette with dedication. White enamel dial, inscribed George H. Ford, New Haven, Conn., narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands.

A nickel-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 28 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed.
