A French 18 carat gold open faced cylinder watch, circa 1900. This pocket watch is made of 18 carat gold. It features a white enamel dial with painted Roman numerals, a railroad minute track with Arabic five minute divisions, a small sunk subsidiary dial for the constant seconds, and gold Louis XV style hands. The inner case is also in 18 carat gold. It is powered by a mechanical movement with a cylinder escapement and pendant winding. An example of French craftsmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century.
