Boursier, French watchmaker
Boursier was a French clock and watchmaker who worked in Paris around 1812 on the Rue Saint-Martin and between 1835 and 1860, on 42 Rue des Vieux Augustins. There are watches found signed ‘Boursier élève de Lepaute à Paris’ and also timepieces with the signature ‘Boursier Jeune élève de Lepaute’. In ‘L’Indicateur des mariages de Paris’ of November 18th, 1866, a watchmaker on 55 Rue Notre-Dame-des-Petitschamps was listed as marrying Mademoiselle Déborde. So it’s probably about three watchmakers by the name of Boursier. Boursier the elder, Boursier the younger (Jeune) and the Boursier who married in 1866.
