A fine French 18 carat yellow gold hunting cased keywind pocket watch, of French quality, mid 19th century. This watch features a keywind mechanical movement with a cylinder escapement. The white enamel dial displays painted Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, and Breguet style hands. The round 18 carat yellow gold case is of exceptional decorative quality. The entire case surface is finely chased with an elaborate composition of floral motifs and foliate scrolls set against a guilloché background, a level of decoration that extends consistently to the bélière. The inner case is in 18 carat yellow gold.
