Rose gold open faced verge watch

A French very attractive 18 carat gold enamel verge pocket watch with date and gold watch key, circa 1800. Full plate gilt brass movement with finely pierced and engraved balance bridge, polished steel coqueret, silver regulation disc, verge escapement.
White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals, rose gold hands and steel date hand. Push the button in the pendant to open the springloaded front.
18 Carat rose gold and polychrome enamel case. Case maker’s punch mark JJL Jean-Francois Kalendrin.
Both bezels on the front and back are made of opaque light blue and translucent cobalt blue rectangles of champlevé enamel with gold decoration. On the reverse is a translucent cobalt blue enamelled medallion over an engine-turned ground bearing a gold paillon monogram ‘IG’, bordered by a delicate gold paillon vine tendril.
