A rare, impressive and technically complicated French pair cased verge pocket watch with alarm, circa 1790. High grade, complicated verge movement, striking train, alarm on bell. White enamel dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and original hands. Outer case decorated with melting varnish, fire gilt inner case with fine peripheral sound openings. Dial signed, movement laterally signed and numbered, cuvette numbered.
