Extremely beautiful watch with anker chronometer escapement

An extremely beautiful Art Nouveau relief watch of the finest quality with and anker chronometer escapement made by Riberon Joubert in Saint Jean d’Angély, France, circa 1900. The numbered open face case of this watch was crafted from solid silver has a coin edge and an ‘Art Nouveau’ relief on the back which was crafted by Louis Bottée. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and Breguet steel hands. The movement has a fine Geneva anker chronometer escapement with wolf’s teeth.
Dust cover and back lid are signed.

Louis-Alexandre Bottée
Louis-Alexandre Bottée (March 14, 1852, Paris – November 14, 1940, Paris) was a famous French engraver and medalist. In 1871 he was admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts, where Hubert Ponscarme was his first teacher. Many of his works are in the Art Nouveau style. In 1898 he was made a knight of the Legion of Honour. In 1930 he was elected to the Académie des Beaux-Arts to succeed Henri-Auguste Patey.
