The bezel on the front and the back of the pocket watch are enamelled with translucent cobalt blue and adorned with gold paillon garlands and flowers. In the centre is an oval medallion in the style of the works of the Swiss painter Angelika Kauffmann (1741-1807) and painted with the allegory of friendship.
