A very fine and rare Swiss, 18K gold and pearl-set pendant watch, circa 1830.
Pearl Sunburst by Balsiger & Fils, Genève. Hinged sprung bezel set with pearls and seed pearls, the backset with seed pearls and pearls in a radiating design. Gold dial with applied radial Roman numerals, outer minute markers, varicoloured gold foliate border, engine-turned centre. Blued steel lozenge hands. A frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass three-arm balance, pierced and chased continental balance cock. Signed on the dial and movement.
