A fine English silver two-train and half-hour striking clockwatch, circa 1785. The bezel is engraved with a geometric pattern and holes for sound transmission, and the back with repousse flower swags and a border to match the bezel. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals and blued steel beetle and poker hands. A matte gilt movement with flared cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain for the going train, spring barrel for the striking, verge escapement with three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, striking the hours and half-hours on a bell in the back of the case. Dial and movement signed.
