A technical rarity, one of the earliest known astronomical pocket watches with real perpetual calendar “Quantième Bisextile”, France circa 1800. An original silver case with French punches and serial number 1511, matching movement punch, full plate movement with cylinder escapement, chain/ fusee.
Original enamel dial, inscribed “Bisextile”, indication of the time with seconds and 6 astronomical complications, among them the extremely rare perpetual calendar with 4 × 12 months, weekday, date, month with indication of the month length of 28-31 days, moon phase and moon age, pink gold hands, complete, but needs to be revised and adjusted, movement with restorations.
