Silver calendar watch by Charles Le Roy
–
A French silver calendar verge watch with centre seconds and stop slide, circa 1800. The watch boasts a gilded full plate movement with verge escapement, fusee and chain, cylindrical pillars, a plain flat three arm brass balance, and a decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge featuring a polished steel endpiece. It includes a silver regulation plate and a stop slide at the edge of the dial that adjusts by 23 seconds using an arm on the balance. The backplate is signed Chs Le Roy à Paris. The white enamel dial showcases three subsidiary dials that display time with Arabic numerals, the days of the week, the date, and an outer seconds track featuring a central hand, also signed Chs Le Roy à Paris. The silver case is adorned with a blue enamel monogram SE set within an off white enamel border beneath a crown and stirrup-form pendant.

The movement is running and appears to be in clean condition. The hands were advanced by 24 hours to test the calendar, and the day and date have advanced. The dial seems to be in good overall condition. The case is tarnished and dirty. The blue enamel monogram has some chips and losses, whereas the white enamel is generally in good condition.
