An unusual verge watch with a mock pendulum, made in France, circa 1800. The open faced plain case of this watch is crafted from silver and has a relief edge. The rare face has an applied silver decoration on an engine turned background and a white enamel dial in the center with black Roman hour numerals and a balance wheel with visible mock pendulum underneath it. The rare full plate movement with floral engraving has a verge escapement.
