Special quality pocket watch with rare enamel technique

A gold enamel verge watch with enamel painting of special quality and a very rare enamel technique, made by Leroy Horloger du Roy in Paris, France, circa 1780. The special quality open faced case has no visible hinges and opens by means of the spring lid bezel button in the pendant, is crafted from 18 Carat gold, has multi coloured enamelled rims on both sides and a special enamel painting with raised contours on the back. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the hours and steel hands that were added later. The extremely rare movement has a verge escapement.
