There are a lot of Matthey, or Mathey, watchmakers, listed, mostly situated in Switzerland and some in Paris. This watch we classify as French, the Comp ͤ is the English label for ‘the companion’, (in French Cie.) The watch belongs in France but was produced for the English market and therefore was signed with Matthey et Comp ͤ.
