A decorative, French gold enamel verge pocket watch with an open face, circa 1790.
18K gold case, the backside decorated with gold paillon stars on a translucent cobalt blue, engine-turned ground and the bezels with white enamel borders with gold flowers on a blue background. Signed enamel dial with red and black Arabic radial hours, outer minutes track with red and black Arabic five minutes numerals, and Louis XV-style hands. Gilt, full plate movement, keywind and signed, chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, three-arm brass balance and fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge. Everything is in the original leather box, which is equipped with the original gold/enamel key and the gold/enamel -Petschaft.
