Gold single-handed watch by Breguet

A very fine French, 20K gold montre de souscription, in original morocco fitted box. Accompanied by a Breguet certificate. Sold to Monsieur André Becker (March 22, 1805) for 864 francs. An engine-turned case with a polished centre, fluted band, made by Joly (Master mark). White enamel dial, souscription type, signed on the reverse by Borel, Breguet numerals and five-minute divisions, secret signature below XII o’clock. Blued steel souscription hand with a tapered point. A gilt brass movement, souscription calibre, centre hanging barrel, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, gilt brass three-arm jewelled balance, pare-chute suspension and bimetallic compensation curb, four-wheel train, winding from both sides. Dial and movement signed.
