The plain open faced gold plated case of this watch has a glazed front lid and the white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals and gold hands and a key winder hole. The extremely flat movement has a verge escapement.

Louis Mallet
Louis Mallet was a French watchmaker who worked in Paris around 1790. He was appointed as the watchmaker to the Duke of Orleans, who later became King Louis Philippe. In the Almanach du commerce de Paris, he was listed as L. Mallet et Compagnie, located at Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau 16.
