Gold and enamel open faced verge watch

A fine French gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1780. The front bezel and outer rim of the reverse with pink enamel sections, a further oval central camaïeu enamel scene of three cherubs resting. White enamel dial, radial Roman hours, outer Arabic five minute numerals, a winding aperture at 2 o’clock and Louis XV hands. Gilt full plate movement with square baluster pillars, fusee barrel, verge escapement, pierced and engraved continental cock with a polished steel endpiece, steel three arm balance, flat hairspring, silver regulator dial.
Movement signed and numbered.
