A very fine, Louis XV-style, representative French ladies’ pocket watch with corresponding chatelaine, circa 1890.
18-carat gold, two-coloured case (red gold and green gold), chased with a scalloped rosette pattern with alternate applied green gold foliage and with a signed Le Roy & Fils, Horlogers de la Marine, Palais Royal, 13 & 15 Galerie Montpensier Paris, 211 Regent Street, London, gold dome. Short chatelaine with matching decoration. Enamel dial, filigree, radial Roman numerals, Arabic minutes and pierced hands. Bridge movement, frosted, gilt, cylinder escapement and three-arm brass balance.
