A French silver repeating verge clockwatch with very rare and unusual striking release, circa 1800.
Full plate gilt fusee movement, pierced and engraved bridge cock with, blue steel spiral hairspring, silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator, striking the hours and half hour on a steel gong, the last hour struck at will by a button in the pendant, both trains wound through the white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and gold hands. Plain silver case, sprung gilt metal cuvette.
