A rare, French pair cased quarter repeating verge pocket watch “à trois couleurs“, circa 1800.
Two cases: outer case – brass, gilt and glazed, with sound holes, applied shagreen with stud decoration and large lateral hinge; inner case – 18-carat rose gold, with floral gold decor “à trois couleurs“, the backside with a diamond-set oval cartouche with a bouquet of summer flowers on a chased gold ground, engraved monogram “LV”, diamond-set bezel, geometrical pattern on the rim, a rear bell, pusher for repetition via pendant and large lateral hinge.
Enamel dial with radial Roman hours and Louis XVI hands. Fire gilt, full plate movement, keywind and signed, with chain/fusee, two hammers, solid circular movement pillars, three-arm brass balance and florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
