Gold open faced cylinder watch
–
An absolute rarity, only known to us pocket watch with ruby cylinder escapement and 24 hours repeater, Mamet ainé à Mâcon, circa 1850. An 18K gold, case lavishly decorated, back with noble coat of arms with crown, reeded middle part, signed dome, signed cylinder movement with ruby cylinder and a repeating mechanism completely unknown to us, the watch strikes the complete 24 hours and the quarters, enamel dial (restored hairlines), very filigree Breguet steel hands. The watch is an absolute rarity from a technical point of view. The inscription on the watch dial already indicates this and the striking mechanism actually strikes up to 24 times!
