A Lépine with repeater, fine movement quality, ruby cylinder, temperature compensation and early shock absorber made in France circa 1830. The open faced high quality à goutte (water drop shape) case is crafted from 18 Carat gold has a relief rim on both sides and the cuvette has an enamelled inscription. The fine engine turned silver dial has an outer ring with Roman numerals for the hours and very beautiful blued steel hands. The numbered movement of exceptional quality has a stone cylinder escapement, a mechanism to repeat the hours and quarters, sapphire jewels, temperature compensation and parachute protection mechanism.
