A French silver pair cased single-handed verge pocket watch with alarm, circa 1680. Pair cases: outer case – silver, engraved with a shield surmounted by a crown, large lateral hinge; inner case – silver, pierced, engraved hunting scene. Dial with enamel chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, central rotating alarm disc with engravings and blued hand. Fine full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, pierced barrel for alarm, conical movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, blued balance spring, finely engraved, pierced balance bridge.
