A French gilded brass key-winding verge Bassine-type pocket watch, circa 1660.
Full plate movement, fire gilded brass, Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance with two arms (polished steel), pierced and engraved gilded continental Louis XIII cock, silver regulator disc. Gold champlevé dial with radial Roman numerals and original gilded brass single hand. Round-shaped gilded brass polished two-piece case. Outer case with clouté pin-work on leather. (Outer case 48.2 mm). Movement signed.
