Gold, enamel and diamond set verge made for the Spanish market

A French 18 Carat gold, enamel and diamond set open faced striking verge pocket watch with date, circa 1790-1800. Hinged case back with royal blue flinqué enamel, in the centre a diamond set frame with a polychrome enamel painting showing a young lady waiting for ‘the love of her life’, saying in Spanish Ata Amistad (tie friendship), the painted on enamel scene attributable to Jean-Louis Richter, the border white and black enamel with gold paillons. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minutes track with fifteen minute numerals, indication of the date by exterior graduation and gold hands. Ultra thin gilded brass full plate movement, three arm brass balance, fusee and chain, verge escapement and blued steel flat hairspring.
