Minute repeating chronograph with minute recorder by L. Leroy
–
A very fine and rare 18K yellow gold keyless-winding pocket watch with minute-repeater, chronograph, and minute recorder, circa 1900.
Gilded brass with going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold and platinum poising screws and blued steel hairspring with a terminal curve, and an index regulator. Gilded dial with suspended Breguet-style numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6, original Breguet-style hands, and three horological complications: Minute-repeater on two steel gongs (activated by the slide at 4 o’clock); 1/5 second chronograph (activated by the single round push-piece located on the winding-crown); safety bolt locking the chronograph’s functions (slide at 1 o’clock); Instantaneous 60-minute recorder. Round-shaped 18K yellow gold case, case back guilloché (engine-turned) with sunray motif; inside a cartouche at 6 o’clock, the cypher R L., and chronograph work on the top plate.
Dial, case and movement signed and accompanied by a fitted box.
