Open faced pocket watch by André Hessen

A French thin gold enamel pocket watch studded with half pearls, circa 1806.
The back lid with a very fine polychrome enamel painting of a Mediterranean harbour scene.
The protective case is gilt and glazed on one side, the inner case is 18 carat gold and it has a pendant with punch mark “DB”. The dial is white enamel with Roman numerals and decorative hands. It has a full plate movement with keywind, a cylinder escapement and with brass cylinder wheel.
