An early and rare one handed Renaissance neck watch with hour self strike with a ray skin coated protective case, circa 1600. Bronze case, pierced, front lid with apertures for hours, rear bell. Silver dial, engraved radial Roman numerals, an engraved stylised ower to the centre, single iron hand. Fire gilt brass full plate movement, verge escapement, 1 hammer, solid movement pillars, locking plate with internal teeth, stackfreed, two-arm iron balance without balance spring.
