A Glashütte hunting cased pocket watch – manufactured in quality 1A, circa 1897.
In original box with original certificate and original repair receipt dated June 19th, 1912. 
An 18 carat gold case, engraved monogram, gold dome with presentation engraving: “Georg Bickel, Dar-es-Salaam, Ostern 1897”.
Enamel dial, arabic numerals, decorative hands, subsidiary dial, 3/4 plate movement, gold screw compensation balance.

Johann Georg Bickel (born 1868 in Affolterbach, died 1940 in Affolterbach) was a Hessian politician of the German National Liberal Party and former member of the Lower Chamber of Parliament of the Grand Duchy of Hesse during the 36th legislative session (1918). He replaced Rudolf Wünzer in Parliament on July 9, 1918 to represent the constituency of Starkenburg 4/Wald-Michelbach.
