A repoussé double case verge watch with 7½ minutes repeater, made by Johann Michael Baur in Friedberg, Germany, circa 1770. The outer case of this watch with a full hunter double case housing is beautiful repoussé with fine sound openings and the inner case is pierced. The dust cover is engraved with Friedberg and the white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes and red gold hands is well preserved. The movement has a verge escapement with a very rare 7½ minutes repeater on a bell.
