A rare German pair cased verge pocket watch, circa 1780.
This rare watch has two cases: outer case – silver and brass, tortoiseshell covered, stud decoration, engraved silver bezel, large lateral hinge; inner case – silver, polished, reeded band. The dial is enamel with radial Roman hours and Louis XVI hands. And the full plate movement is keywind, fire gilt and signed, with chain/fusee, square baluster pillars, three-arm brass balance and an engraved and pierced balance bridge.
