An important, very fine astronomical neck watch with leather covered and stud decorated outer case, circa 1720. brass and silver case, leather covered, applied stud decoration, large lateral hinge. Dial is florally engraved gilt panel, peripheral silver chapter ring with radial Roman hours at “6”, window for month indication, peripheral silver chapter ring for date indication with Arabic numerals at “12”, peripheral silver three-fourths chapter ring with Arabic numerals for moon age at “3”, window with disc for moon phase, blued hands. Full plate movement, frosted, gilt, signed, applied engraved and pierced ornaments, chain/fusee, tulip pillars, blued screws, verge escapement, three-arm iron balance, blued balance spring, florally engraved, pierced balance cock with triangle and mask, silver regulator disc.
