Large gold, enamel and key-winding form watch in the shape of a Curruco seashell with open face, circa 1800-1810.
18-Carat yellow gold and enamel case. Case back with champlevé enamel décor imitating the cockle of the seashell. Enamel dial with Breguet radial hours, outer minutes track with Arabic fifteen minutes numerals, and gold spade hands. Full plate, gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance (probably in gold), blued steel flat hairspring, and a pierced and engraved gilded continental cock.
