Unsigned gold and enamel pocket watch

An 18 carat gold and enamel open faced pocket watch with chatelaine, key, cloth, and coin holder, circa 1850. This watch features a mechanical Lépine calibre with cylinder escapement, four ruby holes, and is wound and set with a key. It features an off centre silvered barley grain guilloché dial, a small blued seconds hand at 6 o’clock on a guilloché background, and a diamond shaped minute hand. The jumping hour is indicated by a disc at the top, visible through a cyclops lens. The case back, bezel, and surrounding decorations are adorned with black enamelled foliage scrolls. The dust cover and lid are numbered.

It is accompanied by a metal key and an 18 carat gold and silver chatelaine, held by a black cloth, featuring a coin holder pendant decorated with a gold Louis coin dated 1786.
