A rare, small French half-hour and hour self-strike coach clock with alarm, circa 1670. Gilt, frosted full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, blued screws, 2 barrels for alarm and self strike, pierced and engraved with foliage decoration, lavishly decorated, conical movement pillars, locking plate for strike mechanism, two hammers, bell, three armed iron ring balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock, silver regulator disc. Firegilt dial, champlevé style, peripheral chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, lavishly florally engraved ornaments, signed, precision cut iron hands. Firegilt case, finely engraved and florally pierced, florally engraved bezel with acanthus braid, large lateral hinge.
