Swiss gold, enamel and pearl-set form watch

A fine and unusual gold, enamel and pearl-set, filigree decorated, watch in the shape of a mandolin, circa 1800-1810.
An 18-carat yellow gold form case with a hinged case back. The body of the mandolin (sound-board and sound-hole) is made in filigrane-technique, with foliage and enamel decoration. Enamel dial with Breguet radial hours, outer minutes track with fifteen minutes numerals, and gold Breguet hands. Key-winding, gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance, and blued steel flat hairspring. Accompanied by a fitted box.
