An early, one-handed Louis XIV oignon watch with central winding by Jaques Girod a Copet, circa 1690. A gilt case, splendid engraved, peripheral birds and putti, a king’s portrait in centre, two putti above, lions on the sides, very early verge movement, signed on the plate, gilt cage, decorated with a grotesque face and mythical creatures, very well-restored enamel dial, gilt hands, early central winding, in working order.
