A decorative Swiss 18K gold and enamel hunting cased minute repeating chronograph lever pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1880.
Glazed, gilt frosted 1/2 plate movement, finely ground and bevelled steel chronograph parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers/two gongs, governor for repetition, screw compensation balance.
Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, central gold decor, auxiliary seconds and spade hands. Engine-turned case, florally engraved bezels, polychrome enamel paintings on a translucent red enamelled background, the front with a pastoral scene, the back with a white and blue Campanula, pusher for chronograph at 12 o’clock, slide for repeating mechanism.
