The portrait on this watch features a royal figure, most likely an Asaf Jahi Nizam of Hyderabad during the Asaf Jah Dynasty (1720-1948) or a member of the royal family. The iconic monument of Hyderabad, Charminar, which means “four towers” in Urdu, is portrayed on the reverse of the watch, instantly recognizable from the four minarets and prominent arches. The surrounding Urdu script is typical of benedictory scripts from the Qur’an.
