All well-known watches that can be proven to have been manufactured by Père Bouhelier are equipped with the same linear lever escapement. Père Bouhelier was originally a priest who had to leave his homeland during the French Revolution and settled in England. It is believed that his time in England was the cornerstone of his development as a watchmaker and ultimately the use of this particular escapement found in all his watches.

Signed: Bouhelier
