A rare large gold and enamel shell shaped watch with repeater, made circa 1810. The open faced shell shaped case of this watch, which is crafted from 18 carat gold, has a bell and a multi coloured enamel back. The beautiful multi coloured enamel dial has paillonné inlays, gold Arabic hour numerals and gold hands. The numbered movement has a flat verge escapement and a mechanism repeating the quarters on the bell.
