Gold open faced complicated watch with barometer

A highly rare and unusual English 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating triple calendar keyless lever watch with aneroid barometer, made for LeRoy & Son in London by Audemars in le Brassus, Switzerland, circa 1885. Gilt finished 3/4 plate fully jewelled lever movement, finely engraved balance cock, bi metallic compensation balance, the barometer tank surrounding the movement, its jewelled lever work mounted on the top plate, minute repeating on two hammers onto two gongs. Hinged glazed display cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer barometer indications with central blued steel hand, three apertures for date, month and day, subsidiary seconds. Plain numbered case, revolving ribbed bezel with inner silvered scale for setting the altitude, repeating slide in the band, case stamped LA for Louis Audemars le Brassus and with casemaker’s initials MF for Meylan Frères, dial signed Le Roy & Son London, the numbered movement is signed Leroy & Son.
