A French gold open faced key wind quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1850. Gilt full plate movement, verge escapement, unusual central balance cock with polished steel star showing through cuvette, unusual bow form regulator, repeating on two gongs. Gilt engine turned and pressed dial, black enamel Roman numerals in foliate decorated chapter ring, winding aperture at 2 and blued steel Breguet style hands. 18 Carat engine turned hinged case, rope twist band. Case stamped AH.
