A French verge pocket watch with fine polychrome enamel painted back and side with outer case circa 1740. The outer case is probably made of lizard or snakeskin witch is very unusual, inner case 20 carat gold. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three-arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Enamel dial with black Roman and Arabic numerals, gold pendant and bow.
