Gold enamel pocket watch probably Geneva
–
A large gold enamel pocket watch with repeater, figure automaton of exceptional quality and an imposing figurative gold key, probably made in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1810. The open faced case is crafted from 18 Carat gold and bears the master’s mark OQ and the number 12961, this pocket watch features a coin rim and a figured automaton of exceptional quality on its front. The motif of the automaton is “Harvest”, and it features golden figures executed in three colours in a highly detailed depiction. The background is a stunning blue guilloché enamel, which adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the watch.
The pocket watch also boasts a white enamel dial in the middle, complete with original Breguet hands. The full plate movement of the watch is equipped with a verge escapement and an hour and quarter hour repeater, making it a highly functional timepiece as well as a work of art.
