A rare oval one handed watch for the Ottoman market, circa 1670.
The case is gilded, covered with abraded ray skin and the dial covered with a turquoise coloured facet glass. The dial is enamel with polychrome flower decoration, white chapter ring with Ottoman numerals and a single brass hand. It has a fine florally engraved full plate movement with very finely engraved foliate scrolls, chain/fusee, verge escapement, pierced pillars, two arm iron balance and a pierced balance cock.
