A Swiss, extremely rare calendar watch American Calendar of excellent quality with anchor chronometer Louis Audemars, made for Caldwell & Co, Philadelphia, circa 1870. Chronometer movement from Louis Audemars 20000 series around 1870, Geneva stripes, wolf teeth, and exceptionally large chronometer balance. Enamel dial with the very rare American Calendar, day, date and month in one line, Breguet-style radial hours, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and gold Louis XV hands. Exceptional quality 18K gold à goutte case, very rare and special crown protection, engraved monogram. Case and movement with the same number.
